Functionality

Both chests (upper and lower) come with rubbery mats that line each one of the drawers. The drawers have soft-close ball-bearing drawer slides on them so if you try to slam the drawers shut they stop and ease shut on their own. The whole cabinet sits on 6-inch industrial casters which is necessary considering this thing is roughly 700-lbs! The caster design is outstanding because you push down to lock them, and push down again to unlock them, rather than having to stick your toes under and pull up to unlock. This is one of my favorite innovations that are coming on Milwaukee’s chests and cabinets these days.

Some of the cool features that this cabinet comes with are two 120-v plug strips with USB ports so you can charge batteries, plug in lights, stereos or anything else you’re heart desires. One of these strips is located on the top shelf of the cabinet, the other is on the outside about knee-height from the ground. Also, in true Milwaukee fashion, there are spots near the outer strip to hang your Milwaukee battery chargers from so they can stay plugged in and always ready to charge batteries from.

The entire cabinet is lockable with a code that you can program in rather than having to hold on to a key, however there is also a key-hole in it so that you can use a key if you prefer. There’s even a “privacy drawer” that has it’s own separate lock so you can keep your “secrets” in it while the rest of the cabinet’s drawers are in use.
